If you have set up your Gmail account to send and receive emails from Influencers within Influencity and you have issues with linking your Gmail account, this article will provide the answers you’re looking for.

Gmail has blocked your sign-in attempt

How to find out if Gmail has blocked your sign-in attempt:

1. When signing in to Influencity, a dialogue box appears displaying an error message.

2. In Account & Settings > Communication > Emails, the status of the email shows as Failed login.

3. Google notifies you they have blocked your sign-in attempt.

Troubleshooting sign-in issues

Troubleshooting issues from within the Gmail notification that your sign-in attempt has been blocked:

  • In the sign-in attempt notification, click on Check activity.

  • In the next window, click on the button Yes, it was me.

  • You will be told the app is blocked.

  • Click on More information.

  • You will be redirected to Google Support.

  • Click on If "Less secure app access" is off for your account.

  • Click on turn it back on.

  • Sign in to the email account you would like to link to Influencity.

  • In the section Less secure apps, activate "Allow less secure apps" (make sure this shows as ON).

  • Go to Influencity to continue setting up your Gmail account.

  • Go to Account & Settings > Communication > Emails.

  • Click on Remove Inbox.

Your Gmail password has changed

If you have changed the password to your Gmail account, you should update your password within Influencity. This will allow you to once again send and receive emails from those Influencers you have stored in your My Influencers.

How to find out if your Gmail password has changed:

1. You will be informed your password has changed when you sign in to Influencity.

2. In Account & Settings > Communication > Emails, the status of the email shows as Failed login.

Troubleshooting issues from changing your password

  • Go to Account & Settings > Communication > Emails.

  • Click on Update password.

  • Enter the same password you have for your Gmail account in the pop-up window that appears.

  • Click on Update password.

If the password is correct, you will be able to once again send and receive emails from your Gmail account via Influencity.
